Series Kickoff — DDIA Book Review x Event Sourcing, Streaming and Modeling
Event Sourcing, Data Engineering, Event Modeling, Data Flow and Complexity
Hello Tech Team Crafters! Starting off with something new this week. I’ll be spending the week on the beach, hah! But that’s not the new thing. In order for you to have just as much fun as I’m having I prepared a series for this week that will be highlighting my learnings from the book Designing Data-Intensive Applications by Martin Kleppmann.
To make it contextual to modern interests, I’ll be drawing parallels with DDD, Event Modeling and Event Sourcing where possible. Today’s post is an intro highlighting what you can expect throughout the week.
Want to read along? Take on a 6-day speedreading challenge
I have two recommendations of the book. Check out this video on speed reading and snag a digital copy of this book. This post isn’t sponsored by the way. But it could be! Crafting tech teams is experiencing huge growth and there’s room for a sponsor. Slide me a DM if you’re interested.
I learned speed reading a long while back. I’m not speeding all the time though. It’s a mode that I can switch in and out of depending on what part of a book I’m at. I learned using this course by John DeMartini, though it’s a bit old school nowadays.
Again, not sponsored in anyway!
