I'll be in Bucharest for HowToWeb this week!
Annual conference in the beautiful city of Bucharest to meet industry giants in the CEE region and beyond on startup strategies, product, engineering and growth.
My first time in Romania and my first flying tour after covid. I’ll see you all on HowToWeb, one of the largest CEE conferences on everything related to product engineering, startups, and obviously the latest AI trends.
One of my clients, a team from Romania hired me for training and coaching last year and stuck by me for 9 months in which time they managed to increase their confidence with regards to planning accuracy and defect reduction with test-driven development. Two of my specialties. Obviously this is in context of a huge legacy system, which is what makes it all fun.
Long story short, that relationship helped me land a speaking opportunity in Bucharest on the HowToWeb conference. You’ll find me on the engineering track on day 2. I’ll also be mentoring during lunch time and looking forward to meeting innovative founders and help their startup engineering get on track.
What am I looking forward to?
Here are some of the talks that piqued my interest:
Horia Coman, Stripe: The Product Minded Engineer Operating in Founder Mode
Sander Hoogendoorn, iBOOD CTO: Real-Life Lessons in Microservices
Ruxandra Chiroiu, Booking Holdings: Transforming Application Security: A Deep Dive into Shift-Left Practices
From Fear to Courage: Leading High-Performing Teams with Extreme Programming
This is my talk, you’ll find me on Thursday in the final slot in the engineer track. I’ll be presenting on leadership practices from extreme programming to help nurture your teams in a more collaborative and productive light. High-performing engineering culture has to start at its core with your developers and their motivation. Vague agenda for the 20min talk:
How Pairing will benefit your Cultural Initiatives
How using Precise Language helps you Manage Delivery Risk
How batches sizes affect your Planning Accuracy
See you there!
Looking forward to meeting you in person.
